MySpace remains second most popular social network
Dec 26th
MySpace continues to bite off it’s share of the social network pie, ranking behind only Facebook as the second most popular website for users to log in to.
The numbers are pretty amazing in terms of how many people actually log in to MySpace on a daily and monthly basis. Search engines suggest that nearly 30 million people try to MySpace Login from Google, Yahoo, and Bing combined.
That’s about a million people PER DAY logging on to MySpace.com, which is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous? Facebook login is happening approximately 100 million times per day, or 3 BILLION times per month! That’s right, billion…
Research shows MySpace crowd less college educated than Facebook
Oct 30th
With the increasingly popular Facebook social network, students and adults worldwide have now added Facebook login in with the necessary daily activities that include eating, drinking, sleeping, and using the bathroom. The interesting part to me, however, is that nearly 90% of those people are either college bound, currently attending a university, or already graduated with a Bachelor’s degree.
On the flip side, MySpace continues to be the second most popular social network behind Facebook, and while MySpace login too has seen it’s inclusion into the everyday activities of human beings, the statistics on college bound, attendee, and graduated members of MySpace is far lower, with an estimated less than 10% of all MySpace users being college educated, attending currently, or university bound.
The reason for the difference? Well, for starters, Facebook began offering services to Harvard students only as a barrier to entry. This guarantees a nearly 100% group of college users. In a way, Facebook’s exclusivity to college students was a haven for MySpace to snap up all of the rest. Eventually, Facebook would open it’s services to all universities one by one, and then the general public. However, the original rules of Facebook are a good reason as to why MySpace surged alongside its counterpart and has a less educated crowd.
MySpace Music key indicator to Bands future
Jun 8th
MySpace Music provides an opportunity for every computer savvy artist to be seen and heard, making MySpace Music a key indicator to a band or artists success in the future. For example, if 100,000 people listen to Scott Effman, a guitarist from The F Men, and 12,000 of those people become MySpace Friends, the trend looks good.
Big Labels are now basing much of their expectations on the statistics that a band or artist’s MySpace page can generate. The artists with more hits, more plays, and more visits are the artists bound to succeed. MySpace has also been an incredible tool to discover talent for this very reason. Sometimes there is a diamond in the rough waiting to be seen and heard, and MySpace lets it happen. MySpace Login is very addicting because music and friends are at the core of everyone.
